Together a bunch of local artists (and a few blow-ins from Brisbane) along with THE WALLS and WILD GARDEN, treated the community to an afternoon of sights, sounds and arts permeating out of lockdown. Part exhibition, part screening, part rave, WILD WALLS featured a special welcome to country ceremony, animations, video art, sound, performance, a freestyle art wall and more. WILD WALLS seeked to show gratitude to artists and allow a platform to share works that may have otherwise remained in the studio.

The evening began with a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony by Uncle Steve.

Next, a performance artwork by Merinda Davies activated and linked the two exhibition spaces, drawing the audience into new and beautiful experiences inspired by the artist’s time in COVID-19 isolation. Unperturbed by a hailstorm and rain, the experience was immersive and exciting. Olympic Pool Maintenance League treated us to sound-based experiences at The Farm, which was heartily enjoyed with a snow cone in hand.

Art-Work Agency attended the WILD WALLS event to document the evening, capturing each element through photography. We were proud to see our Creative Director Claudio Kirac and our Visual Designer Elke Gill exhibit as a part of the project.
