A good reason to bring more art into your workplace

The past few years have been a tough time for small-medium businesses and artists around Australia. A new tax incentive in response to these challenging times means that purchasing artwork/s up to the value of $150,000 for your business is a tax write-off.

Beyond the tax incentive, the decision to purchase artwork for your workplace isn’t one that you will regret. Whether it be a sculpture, a print, or a painting, a new source of inspiration for your office can increase productivity, boost your mood and enhance your brand experience for customers and clients.

Art is the heart and soul of all we do. We recently launched our AW Gallery space with a solo exhibition ‘Starlight Eyes’ by our Creative Director Claudio Kirac and have two artist studios on-premises. With over 11 years of experience working in the creative industries, we can assist you in finding the perfect artwork.

As artworks qualify under the Instant Asset Write-off Scheme it is now possible to claim a complete deduction of up to $150,000 for artworks purchased by a small to medium-sized business for their premises. However, the artwork must be:

  • Tangible

  • Capable of being moved

  • Purchased principally for display in a business premise; and

  • Not be trading stock.

The advice given in this article is for general information purposes only. We strongly encourage you to read more about the incentive and consult an accountant for business or personal tax advice.
