Water is a precious and limited resource and dry weather in South East Queensland has seen combined dam levels fall. Queenslanders have always looked after each other, through drought and flood and we need to be ready to do this again, by using water wisely and thinking more sustainably.
The City of Gold Coast Smart Water Management Campaign encourages everyone in the community to play their part in saving water, complementing the Seqwater water-saving campaign running from November 2019.
The City of Gold Coast engaged Art-Work Agency to develop a unique, flexible and captivating creative campaign. The outcome had to be adaptable to the diverse campaign phases and appeal to a wide demographic, including City residents, business owners and visitors to the region. The campaign was activated city-wide.
In 2021, Art-Work Agency supported Gold Coast Water and Waste in the delivery of the My Future My Water campaign across a range of City pump stations and valves.
We collaborated with Gold Coast-based illustrator Camille Manley to develop a series of bespoke illustrations that demonstrate a range of simple water saving behaviours.
The campaign is positive and uplifting, inspiring behaviour change through a sense of community and positivity, rather than scare tactics.
